New Guidelines to
Stop the Spead of Covid-19
Here is the standard set of Covid-19 safety precautions that each league will put in place at their complexes for all games, effective 6/7/2020. Please note...these are the minimum agreed upon standards. Some leagues may choose to institute more precautions and will notify teams should safety requirements drastically change.
1. If a player or spectator is experiencing flu-like/Covid-19 symptoms, please be responsible and refrain from coming to the fields until cleared by a medical professional.
2. No sunflower seeds or gum at the complex. Please refrain from spitting.
3. Please use your own equipment (helmets, bats, etc.). If you are unable to purchase a bat or helmet please let your coach know and the league will provide the equipment for the player to borrow until the end of the season. Exception: catchers equipment—this equipment will be sanitized between each use should two or more players need to share the same catcher’s gear.
4. No team water coolers. Each player is responsible for bringing their own drink. Remind your player not to share drinks with other players.
5. Coaches will try to keep 6’ of distance from players when coaching or addressing the team when possible.
6. We request that parents maintain safe distancing from the dugouts at all times.
7. At the end of the 3rd inning of each game a brief timeout will be taken by all teams to wash or sanitize hands.
8. Also, at the end of the 3rd inning, gameballs being used will be retired and returned to the home team. The home team will supply two new game balls to finish the game.
9. Should parents desire their player to take additional safety precautions (wearing masks, more frequent hand washing, etc.), then parents are required to provide that oversight. Managers and coaches are not responsible for supervising Covid-19 safety practices beyond what has been listed here. Should parents desire their child to sit with them rather than in the dugout, that is fine. We would just ask that you ensure they are ready to return to the field immediately when it is their turn to bat or play defense.
10. Managers, Coaches, Umpires and Little League Board members or staff will not police fans/parents/spectators with regards to Covid-19 safety precautions. If you are uncomfortable with what is going on around you, you may choose to relocate or not attend the event.
In order to have each game be a success, please be respectful and courteous to others around you. Remember, the Covid-19 pandemic means something different to each of us.
❗️Note on Concessions:❗️
Concessions at all fields will have limited menus. As it stands now, each league intends to sell drinks and pre-packaged snacks at a minimum. However, most will not be selling major food items so please be prepared. Thank you for understanding!
